UIR/IRMAN plugin works but UIRT doesn't

Postby KRavEN » Fri Aug 06, 2004 7:54 pm

I built my own serial UIRT2 using the schematics from the web. I was able to program the pic and it reported back sucessful.

When I run girder the UIRT plugin doesn't find my device but if I switch to the UIR/IRMAN plugin that comes with girder it works fine and I'm able to use it just like I were using an IRMAN. This would be fine, but I want to use the ir transmit function as well and need the UIRT plugin to do that.

I've checked and doublechecked all my connections. If anyone has any steps I could try to troubleshoot the issue I would appreciate it.

This is really not the correct forum, since this forum is dedicated to the USB-UIRT, but some things to check are:

1. What firmware version you're using, and
2. Make sure you're using the UIR plugin and *not* the USB-UIRT plugin.

Thanks for answering Jon. I wasn't sure where else to put it and I hoped you might know what to do since you wrote the firmware. I appreciate your help.

The firmware is the 10mhz version linked from the fukushima.us website http://users.skynet.be/sky50985/UIRT_10MHZ_1_7.zip

I did double check to make sure it wasn't the USB plugin.

IIRC, you need to be using firmware 1.8 to work with the later UIRT2 plugin.

That was exactly it Jon. Thanks. I'll email that guy and see if he'll update his webpage so that others don't run into the same issue.

I'm still not able to get the irblaster stuff working but I'll post over on the girder forums since I posted in the wrong forum to begin with.

Thanks again for the assistance.
