Problem driving Pace (foxtel digital) STU (RC6 IR remote)

Postby Shauna » Sat Jul 31, 2004 1:53 am

I have been using a usb-uirt with snapstream and foxtel in Australia with no problem. I have just upgraded to foxtel digital servive with a new remote and set top box (pace DS420NF).

I retrained the the usbuirt/snapstream combo via the ss setup from the pace remote abd it seemed to learn the new remote codes ok.

But it does not work on the transmit side, the IR indicator light on the STU does not even light up when the usbuirt transmits (but is fine for the foxtel remote) and so there is now way for me to changes the channel.

Pace is supposed to use a higer IR frequency then other units - pace inform me that they use RC5/6 type remotes and numerious web posts indicate RC6 (which does not mean much to me).

Can USB-UIRT learn and transmit RC6 codes so that I can get it to work with the pace STU ?
How do I do it ?
If it can't what other ir blaster may support this RC6 and the pace STU ?

regards

Shauna,

The best way to troubleshoot this is to contact me at support@usbuirt.com and I'll email you a test app which can learn/playback and assist in troubleshooting this.

Did you get this to work?

I have the same problem.
I managed to get it to work some of the time but it is unreliable and some of the codes only work 50% of the time.
