IR Emitter suddenly unreliable

Postby Guest » Wed Feb 23, 2005 4:52 pm

I have been using a USB-UIRT in conjunction with SageTV with success for several months now. In the last two or three weeks the emmiter has become inconsistent and unreliable in send codes to my DirecTV set-top box. Typical scenario: "3-0-7" produces only "7", "0-0-4-1" yields "0-4", and random stuff like that.

I have tried relearning codes from the original remote, adding a RepeatCount line to the .IR file, switching and repositioning emitters and nothing has helped. The only changes I've made to the PC are adding backup software (which is not likely at issue) and loading the most recent rounds of Microsoft Security updates.

The unit had been connected to an onboard USB 1.1 port but I tried switching to a USB 2.0 port on an add-in card and saw no improvement. Is there anything I can try to revive this setup?

Hmmm, that is very odd.

If you contact support@usbuirt I can send you a test app which you can use to manually send codes to see if they are repeatable (outside of Sage).
