Only Emit from Externat Emitter in SageTV

I'm not sure whether here or the Sage forum would be better, but I'll try here 1st.

OK heres my setup:
TV attached to a Cable Box (Box 1)
and TV attached to PC running Sage with TV card attached to another cable box (Box 2)

Dilemma: both boxes will be identical BUT I only want to emit to Box 2.

Box 1 is just for watching Live TV direct from box to TV. I only intend on controlling it through it's own remote.

Box 2 is only for Sage TV. It will only be controlled by Sage. I plan on attaching a remote emitter to it and placing the box 2 & emitter in a box to prevent other IR from getting to it (Like commands from the remote to box 1).

BUT I don't want the USB-UIRT, when trying to control Box 2, to also send the information to Box 1 as well.

Can I disable the built in Emitters or selectively enable them (maybe for future purposes as yet unforseen)?

Any other ideas or solutions?

USB-UIRT's purchased within the last 3+ months are capable of selective controlling 3 'zones' -- the front emitters, the jack's L channel, and the jack's R channel. So, in your case, you could only emit to the zone you need. This can easily be done by hand-modifying the Sage.IR file. See this thread for more details:

Thanx for your quick reply. I'll be sure to try this just as soon as I get my USB-UIRT :-)
