USB-UIRT with MainLobby not learning Lutron and Sharp codes

Postby Equal » Wed Aug 04, 2004 3:33 pm

I have a USB-UIRT that I purchased about 1 month ago and am using it with MainLobby to control my equipment and lighting with a touchpanel. I was able to learn most of my IR codes successfully with the MainLobby plug-in for the USB-UIRT but can't seem to learn the following codes.

Sharp XV-Z9000U Power on and Power off (learned all other codes from Sharp remote.)

Lutron Grafik Eye Pro IR codes to select scenes on the Grafik Eye. These were downloaded from Lutron in a ccf and loaded into my Pronto. They work fine from the Pronto but won't complete a learn in the USB-UIRT. I have also tried to learn them using a lrnhelper utility created by Dave Reicher of Cinemar and when sleceting accept burst it seems to learn it, but when testing it doesn't work to contol the Grafik Eye.

Pasted below are the learned codes currently in the Pronto and working there.

Any ideas on how to tackle this issue?

Thanks in advance

Mike,

FYI - the lrnHelper was made by me (I simply passed it along to Cinemar).

For starters can you give this a try:

Run the lrnhelper app and paste one of the lutron and/or sharp codes from your Pronto into the lrnhelper code box. Then hit the transmit button and see if they work there.

Pasting IR Code into lrnhelper

Postby Guest » Thu Aug 05, 2004 1:05 am

When I paste the IR code into the lrnhelper IR Code box I can't select test transmit code as it is grayed out. Only if I click learn code and then try to learn it do I get a test transmit option. How Do I paste it and then test it?

Thanks,

Mike

Lutron Codes

Postby Equal » Thu Aug 05, 2004 3:07 pm

Jon,

I forgot to login before my last post so the guest post is actually from me. As you will see in that post I'm not sure how to do what you are suggesting I try.

I have been able to work around the Sharp code issue by controlling the projector via serial cable rather than IR. I still need to figure out how to get the Lutron lighting to work via IR. I also have a document from Lutron about their IR codes if that would help you resolve my issue.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

On the lutron remote, when you press a button does it send out a single 'burst' or a continuous stream (for example, does the red led on the USB-UIRT continue to flicker for as long as you hold the button)?

Lutron code appears to be a burst

Postby Equal » Thu Aug 05, 2004 7:10 pm

The LED on the USBUIRT only stays on for a short while when sending the Lutron code so I am taking that to mean it is a burst.

Thanks,

OK, please give this a try:

Paste the following modified scene 1 code into the lrnHelper app and test transmission:

0000 0068 0007 0000 0338 010B 005A 010B 005A 005A 0164 005A 005A 010B 010B 005A 005A 5000

The try this one:

0000 0068 0007 0000 0338 010B 005A 010B 005A 005A 0164 005A 005A 010B 010B 005A 005A 0800

Also, could you learn the Scene1 using lrnHelper and accept Burst and post what the lrnHelper code comes out as?

Let me know,

Still no Success

Postby Equal » Fri Aug 06, 2004 2:55 am

Jon,

I tried pasting the 2 codes you sent me and testing them with no success. I learned the code with the accept burst option and here is what shows in the code window

0000 006A 0000 0007 032E 0109 005A 0109 005A 005B 0160 005B 005A 0109 0108 005B 005A 0FEE

This one doesn't work when testing either.

I have also pasted some information I excerpted from the Lutron techincal document I referred to earilier in this post.

Scene 1 Command

Data: 41
Parity Bits: 00
IR Code: FF88BD100

Modulated at 41.7kHz
Bit Length 2.29 ms

I hope this info helps. I have the full list of all the commands and codes like above if you need it. I can email it to you.

Thanks for you assistance tackling this issue.
