Trouble with Channel 11

I am using the USB UIRT with Sage. All seems to be fine appart from channel 11. My Furguson FDT500 always goes to channel 1 when I try to go to channel 11.
Any ideas?

Sounds like a timing issue. You may need to adjust the spacing between transmitted digits inside Sage. If the '1' '1' is sent too quickly your STB may be seeing it as a single '1'.

I have tried all sorts of timings from 100ms to 1000ms. all seem to do the same thing. On the actual remote you can press the '1' '1' quite quickly to turn the channel.
Any other ideas?

The other possibility is that your remote toggles between two alternating codes for each button -- sometimes known as 'parity'. If this is the case, your STB will expect a different code for each alternating button-press of the same key. Do you see a similar problem with channels 22, 33, 44, etc?

Spot on!!
I just tried turning to channel 33 and the same thing happens - it just turns to channel 3.
Now - I guess this is the tricky part..........
How do I sort it out?

There are two possible options from here (both are tricky).
1) Get hold of the actual RC5 or RC6 IR codes (they are likely RC5 or RC6) for your device versus the learned codes. Does ferguson have support sites on the internet for this device?
2) Many Pronto users work around issues like this by finding a 'dummy' IR code (usually a button which has no effect while typing in a channel #) and will insert this button-press between each channel digit. You could determine if you have such a button on your remote with some experimentation.

My preoblem comes in that I am using it with Sage. To enter codes you have to hold down the button untill sage says OK. This therfore disables you from pressing more than one button I presume?!?
MMMMmmmmmm
I'll chack out the furguson website also.
Is there a Sage property do you know that holds the information that I could manually change if I found out the ir code?

If you can find more info about the IR codes it would be helpful to figure out a workaround.
I also believe we could come up with a workaround if you indeed can determine a 'dummy' button on your remote (you don't need Sage to experiment with this -- instead you want to use your Ferguson remote and try tuning your Ferguson receiver and see if there's a button on your remote which you can press in-between digits which does not goof up the channel entry process).

OK, I checked throught the remote and I found that both the 'blue' button and the 'AV' do nothing. I think the AV button could be a better one to use as the blue button could be used when usinf Teletext.
Come on then, lay it on.........what crazy workaround do I have to perform now?

Does the AV button perform a function on your STB otherwise (just making sure it actually transmits something to your STB and isn't for another piece of equipment, etc.)

The AV does transmit (Ican see the the red light on both the STB on the USB-UIRT flashing) and it doesn't do anything else to any other equipment.

OK, the next thing we'll try will require you to email me with your .IR file from Sage.

You should have the file now - Cheers dude

I'm having exactly the same problem, on a Matsui DTR2 digital reciever. Is there a workaround possible with Girder? I guess using the state function and finding out these different codes it would be.... I'm using SSGirderTuner if you are familiar with it (to transfer the channel number from Showshifter to Girder)
Any idea where to find the codes?

Chris,
So you're saying you cannot tune to 11, 22, 33, 44, etc? (repeated digits)?
