USB-UIRT Forum

Hey,

I'm using BTV 3.5.1 with 2 ExpressVU sat boxes. Both my sensors have the 56 Mhz addon.

As I understand it with the multi zone USB_UIRT you need to plug in a splitter into the back of it and use 2 IR bugs.

My question is that what IR bugs are compatible with expressvu? Or do I even need to worry as the USB-UIRT already does that?

I find the documentation pretty limiting on how to setup a multi-zoned environment.

I know I need to modify the BTV .rmt files to add the Z1, Z2 stuff.

Ideally what I'd like is to be able to use both my USB-UIRT's with BTV (and I run Girder), but I don't know if that's possible.

Some light would be appreciated

Brad,

You should be able to control both EVU receivers with a single USB-UIRT.

You can do this one of two ways:

1. Use the multi-zone approach, which will require two stick-on emitters connected to a stereo-to-2-mono splitter (or wire one yourself), or

2. Not worry about multi-zone, but instead reprogram one of your EVU receivers to a different remote 'address'. The EVU/Dish receivers can be programmed to different addresses, which allows multiple receivers to be used in the same room.
