USB-UIRT crashes Orb set-up

Now, I know the short answer will be to contact Orb however, it's not really that straightforward.
I have tried to set up Orb up on 3 different PCs (one a virgin PC with just XP installed) and on all 3 the Orb set-up program crashes when I attempt to 'learn' from the USB-UIRT.
Orb detects the USB-UIRT OK and wants to use it.
Orb recommend the USB-UIRT as the IR blaster of choice so it does work with Orb.
My USB-UIRT works OK with other programs.
So, what could be causing this crash? It's fine until I press a button on my remote for it to learn and then I get the crash.
I'm mystified as to why this is happening to me and seemingly no-one else.
I'm using the latest drivers and the only common elements between the 3 PCs are the USB-UIRT and Orb.
What can I check or change to prevent this?
Could it be hardware? I'll gladly try another USB-IRT if it's a possibility.
Is it perhaps because I'm using the 'w/additional 56KHz IR Sensor' version?
All thoughts much appreciated.
