Hi Jon,

I've read pretty much all of the posts regarding waking from S3 using
the USB-UIRT. I almost got it working, but have hit one final brick wall
that I was hoping you could help me out with.

I've added the registry hack, disabled reloading of the plugin in Girder,
turned off all other Girder plugins for testing purposes, and created two
Girder multigroups that look like this:

Suspend
Trigger: USB-UIRT code (power button)
Command 1: Girder:Disable Device:75 (USB-UIRT)
Command 2: O.S.ower Management:Ram-alive polite

Enable
Trigger: Girder:OnResumeSuspend
Command 1: Window:Wait:10000ms (10 seconds)
Command 2: Girder:Enable Device:75 (USB-UIRT)

On resume, after 10 seconds, I get the error message: "Unable to
connect to USB-UIRT device! ...". If I then select the Enable Device
command and press F5 (Test Command), everything works fine. I
just can't get it to work without this manual intervention.

Any suggestions? I really appreciate any help you can offer.

BTW, everything works fine if I remove the registry hack and disable
the USB-UIRT waking from suspend feature. It just means I have to
hit the power button to resume. Everything also works fine if I don't
put in the registry hack, suspending/resuming to S1 using the remote
without disabling/enabling any plugins. But then I have fans running
all the time...

Rather than disabling the USB-UIRT and re-enabling it after suspend using Girder commands, have you tried turning on the 'disable driver during suspend' option on the USB-UIRT/Girder plugin? This option is found in the Girder Plugins screen by selecting the USB-UIRT plugin and hitting the settings button.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using the Girder plugin version 2.6.9,
and there is no "disable drive during suspend" option. There are two
options: "Suppress Driver Error Dialog" and "Restart Driver on Resume
from Standby". I tried the "Restart Driver..." option, and that didn't help.

The 'Restart Driver after Resume' is the option you want to try. Please try turning this ON and shutting OFF the Girder commands you've implemented to Disable the USB-UIRT at suspend.

This was one of the first things I tried, and it didn't work. I don't have
my notes here with me at work, so I can't tell you exactly what
combinations and permutations I tried, but I definitely tried experiments
with "Restart Driver after Resume" enabled, with and without the
disable/enable in my Girder commands.

did you get any resolution to this? I'm having a similar problem where when the pc wakes the usb-uirt is disabled in my device manager. I had the option to restart checked, so I'm going to try unchecking it.

No, I gave up for a bit. I'm going through some hardware churn, so I
figured it was best to solve this once everything else had settled.

I just setup USB-UIRT to wake my PC from Stand-By via Girder. I do have the problem where the USB-UIRT would disable and require reconnecting the USB cable or restarting Girder. I have both Supress Errors and ReEnable driver checked. But everytime I wake from Standby, I can hear the WinXP USB disconnecting sound for the USB-UIRT. Sometime it would reconnect on its own after a few seconds, but not always. I"m using latest USB-UIRT driver and girder plugin. Is this a USB-UIRT driver problem, a WinXP USB problem, or a Girder problem, or a combination between the three? Any clue?

I am also still having trouble, when I wake sometimes the usbuirt won't pass on any commands even though it shows enabled in device manager. On a reboot it then shows as disabled. I'm using XLobby, Girder(To channel change) and Sagetv. If I remove Xlobby fromthe equation I still have the issues. I have the box checked in the girder properties. Any ideas? What's the registry hacks?
