Annoying transmission dalays

I use USB-UIRT together with HouseBot.
When issuing multiple commands to the USB-UIRT unit (like sending a volume command), I experience long delays. It takes about 400ms for a command, so changing the volume by 10 Db would take 10*2*400 ms (my receiver's volume changes 1/2 db at a time).
This is far too long.

Jon,
Is it the same with other software that uses USB-UIRT?
Can something be done?

Please take a look at this thread from the housebot forum:

Thanks,
Yoram

Yoram,

There shouldn't be any such delay. While it is commong for IR signals to take as much as 1/2 second or more to get fully transmitted and acted upon by the receiving device (this is a function of the IR protocol used, etc.), the USB-UIRT should *begin* transmitting a code within about 5mS of a Transmit call.

If you want to experiment with this, I can email you a simple app you can paste a code into and press a 'Transmit' button to see what sort of delays you see compared to HouseBot (which I believe does not use the API but rather talks directly to the USB-UIRT?).

Contact me at support@usbuirt.com for this.
