would anyone be able to send me their .rmt file for this box or help me out any further? I can't seem to get things to work. When I try to use the learn function in girder, the uirt blinks but does not seem to pick up the command. When using the debug feature it does spit out some sort of code, for example, when I hit 1 I received R06DE20211F2120211F2120211F213F2120211F2120211F2120411F
Any suggestions?

Are you sure you're using the Debug feature -- that looks like a valid IR code after using the 'Learn' button in the USB-UIRT dialog...

whenever i try to use the learn function, the light on the uirt doesnt come on, or like when i have tried it with beyondtv or sagetv, it blinks once, but gives me an error. but if i just have it plugged in, and not on learn mode, it lights up whenever i use the remote.

When using the learn function, a different IR receiver is used (short-range), so you must hold the remote 4-6 inches away from the USB-UIRT. You may need to experiment with the positioning of the remote a bit.
