Intermittent Channel Changes with Sage/UIRT

I'm using SAGE TV with my Usb-uirt to control my cable box. Sometimes when I am watching TV the Uirt starts changing the channel even though I have no recordings scheduled in SAGE. After a short "remote war" (I change back the channel and Sage/Uirt changes it again, 2or3 times) it stops. It seems quite intermittent and not tied to anything in particular.
Has anyone had this problem? Could it be SAGE or the UIRT?

If this is happening it has to be Sage (not the UIRT itself). The UIRT does not store IR commands, etc., but rather is told what to send for each digit -- i.e. sage says 'Send <irCode1>', then 'Send <IRCode2>, etc.
