nec ht-1000 projector not learning on and off code

I first have to say the usb uirt is a nifty little box. I however am having a problem getting my nec ht-1000 to go on and off. The ht-1000 requires the on and off button to be pushed for 3 or 4 seconds to power on or off.

I have tried to learn the codes in regular and raw mode, moving the remote around trying different positions. no go. I also also tried to import some pronto remote codes and getting no luck. I tried changing the frequency of the pronto code after reading some past posts about the pronto code freq. being curropted in the import. still I am sorry to say no go. When importing the power on code repeat is 31. If i try to increase it it always goes back to 31 after I hit apply or ok. for the off comand I get a repeat of 4, but the same as on, no dice.

It did work once though the first time It tried it. The batteries in the remote are new, pj is new. I am using remote extender cones since HTPC is not next to pj, but that is not the issue since the PJ remote does work through the ir cone. I also tried bypassing the cone and moving the HTPC to the pj, still nada.

ohh one more thing i tried is to block the remote for a couple of seconds before aiming it at the usb uirt, while still holding the on button.

thanks
dave

dave2,

Well, first of all, you found a bug in the repeat setting! You win a prize! (well no prizes, sorry).

Anyway, you'll probably want to go back to importing the Pronto code. If you post one of the codes here, I can tell you the correct frequency to try. Then you can set the repeat high enough to het 4 or so seconds and try the 'TEST' button *without* hitting Apply or OK. If you can get that to work, we're nearly there...

I'll fix this bug in the next Girder plugin release. In the meantime, you can go into your Girder .GML file (with a text editor) and edit the repeat value for that command.

cool I will try it tonight.

One more issue I have. On my sl-9000 home theater master remote, I get different IR codes when I push the same button a few times. this means I have to keep pushing the buton till the right code pops up. at first I thought it was just one button, but it turns out to be most.

thanks dave

well i solved the problem of getting diferent ir codes with the same button, That was caused by my remote not being programed properly in the first place.

My problem now as was before is geting my projector to go on and off.

the raw code works only sometimes, which really dosen't work in my KISS system.

I also tried changing the repeat value in the gml file to 60 but it always reverts to 31 in girder.

any more help would be apreciated.

Dave,

As long as you don't go and edit that command in Girder, the setting of 60 should stay. If you edit the .GML and don't do subsequent edits to that command, does it operate your projector?

Hi,
I've got also problems to learn the ON and OFF sequence as you have to press several seconds on the original remote control to send the command.
I didn't find any repeat option in MLUSBIRT.
Any idea what I can do ?
Thanks
Arnaud

My best recommendation is to contact the ML guys (or whomever wrote the ML plugin) and request the ability to configure the repeat setting.
