i am using my uirt with girder to control my tivo. i send the ir from the tivo remote to the uirt and into a girder commnd which repeats that ir out to a blaster attached to the tivo. it works but the problem is that there is a .5 - 1 second delay between the time i press the button on the remote and when the tivo receives the ir and executes the command.
it doesnt sound like much but it is very annoying. is there anything i can do to speed this up? to make it as if i was using the remote directly with the tivo?

Unfortunately not. The USB-UIRT isn't really suited to act as a repeater, since the ideal repeater doesn't process the IR but simply amplifies it and sends it on its way. In your case, the IR command has to be completely received, decoded, passed to the PC, trigger an event, and be recoded and transmitted. In addition, the USB-UIRT has to wait for the received IR to *cease* before it can transmit,

whats weird is that when i originally posted this i didnt realize that the batteries in my tivo remote were low. once i replaced them it worked much better.
but now what happens is that it will work well for a while but then after a while (usually after watching a movie on the pc) it will slow down to the point of being annoying again. if i reboot then it starts working well again for a while. whats up with that?
its a brand new pc athlon 64 3800 2 gb memory 500 gb sata II hard drive.
