No Power Options on the USB-UIRT device?

Hello all

Didn't receive my confirmation email for a new user registration so far, so I post as a Guest :) Hope you guys don't mind too much *g*

I was just wondering if it is normal that the USB-UIRT device does not have the Power Options tab in the device manager. I think this is the main reason that the wake-up command is not sent over to the computer. Mouse and keyoard inputs are recognized and the computer starts up as it should (they have the power options tab in the device manager).

I found a reg hack on greenbutton.org (or somesuch) to add power options usb devices, but that didnt help in the case of the USB-UIRT.

I also added several different buttons to the wake-up secion in the lrnhelper tool, but none of them is recognized.

My mainboard is a Asus P4S800 with the latest Bios. S3 is not specifically mentioned in the Bios but you have to set jumpers on the board itself to enable +5 VUSB (?) to the USB ports. In the manual it also mentions that you have to put wake-up devices to the USB 2.0 ports since the USB ports on the back of the mainboard do not support wake-up from S3.

Soooo.....anyone out there that could help me to solve this tricky little problem?

If there are no power options on your USB ports in Device Manager, you may have to look into the Windows Drivers for the USB host controller on your motherboard. It is a function of this controller. Are the keyboard/mouse USB devices or PS/2?

No, the mouse and keyboard are on USB. And they have the power options tab. Strange enough the root hubs and host controllers have the power options tab, but the option to enable wake-up for that device is greyed-out.

When i am in standby (S3) or even hibernate (S4) i can wake the computer by pressing a key on the keyboard. It just doesnt work on the USB-UIRT.

By default, the USB-UIRT should have wake-up enabled. Have you programmed the USB-UIRT's four IR 'slots' with IR codes to cause wake-up events?
