Hometech emitters

Jon,

I have two USB-UIRT's and have always used the Hometech blinking dual emitters. All of a sudden the emitters aren't emitting. I've tried switching USB-UIRT's and I get the same results from both. IR blaster is working on both USB-UIRT's fine. What could cause two different sets of dual emitters to stop working. Since I've tried them in two diffrerent USB-UIRT's I feel it must be the emitters but think the chances of two dual emitters going at the same time is pretty slim too?? Any suggestions??

ok Jon,

Yhe ir emitters are working when I have Girder open on screen and use "test" command in Girder. But when I use my remote the USB-UIRT flashes received but the emitters don't light up or work like they do in Girder??? Tried the head phone thing using my remote and no sound but in Girder using TEST I get tones loud and clear.

The USB-UIRT does not 'pass through' received IR signals to the emitters. If you want such functionality, you would need Girder to trigger off of a received IR signal and perform some transmit action.

Jon, dah!

OK I should've known that...got it working using events in Girder. However, when I try to input my Pioneer DVD changers "ON" and "OFF" codes the two seem to be connected some how. Their both discreet codes so they should function normally. They both function normally when I use the remote and don't use girder or the USB-UIRT. ON turns ON the changer but won't shut it off (normal) OFF turns the changer off when it is ON and won't turn it ON if it is OFF (normal)...did you get that

Using the girder/usbuirt setup the two seem to conflict. For example, if the changer is off and I press ON, the changer will cycle ON then immediately cycle to OFF??? Any ideas?? Great product by the way...I own two from you. :D

OK, did a little playing with this new problem. I imported both descrete codes from the remotecentral site and they work perfect with just the remote. I have the two commands under an ADD GROUP folder in Girder. Power ON is first and Power OFF is under it, each with their own seperate commands with their own LEARNED events. When I press Power ON the Changer turns on, when I press OFF the changer turns off (all this being done within UIRT/Girder). (1.)If I press power ON (the changer goes ON) and when I Press power ON again the changer goes OFF and it shouldn't. If the changer is OFF and I press OFF the changer stays OFF, this is OK.

If I have Girder maximized and I watch which commands get highlighted as I press these commands using scenario example #1. above Girder stays at the OFF command instead of using the ON command again. This is the best I can explain the problem so I hope you can help. I know it's a little confusing.

Sounds like a possible issue with Girder and which command is being executed. Try this: go into the USB-UIRT dialog (where the 'Learn' button is) and use the "Test" button in there for the ON command and see if it behaves.

Best regards,

Jon
