I need help using my usb-uirt to transmit an IR command to a VCR.

When I'm in the "Learn..." or the "IR Debug" diaglog in Girber for the USB-UIRT plugin, USB-UIRT does nothing. No Led flash, nothing is reported in any of the dialog fields. I've tried this on 2 different PC.

If a use the girder learn feature to get the hex code I wish to transmit and manually enter it into "Code 1", the "Test" function does transmit something (led indicator on seperate test device flashes) but does not control my JVC HR-S3902U VCR. Please help I can't figure out why. I tried 3 carrier frequencies (40, 41 & 56K) no luck. Know of any software that will capture this type of information for captured USB-UIRT signals.

(Windows XP sp2; plugin 2.6.9 ; API 2.6.93 ; Firmware 5.9 )

After trying everything I could think of, come to find out I just didn't have the remote close enough during learning.

You have to be much closer for some reason for during "learning" with the girder plugin.

Hopefully this will help some others.

Yes, when learning (learning an IR code for transmission) a different short-range sensor is used which can pick up frequency, etc. The learn dialog instructs you to hold your remote close to the USB-UIRT.
