Using USB UIRT as an Emitter Only with Beyond TV

Postby Spqr753 » Tue Jan 31, 2006 1:59 pm

I am new to this so please bear with me. I have an OrigenAE (formerly Uneed) X-11 case, which has a built in IR receiver (manufacturer is IR Trans) but no emitter/transmitter. I am not currently using that receiver for anything, and I have been controling my system with my wireless RF keyboard & mouse.

My question is this: can I use my wireless keyboard to control Beyond TV and then have BTV send send signals to USB UIRT and then to may cable box? Or do I need to also install Girder to do this? At this point I only need USB UIRT to control my cable box, and so I only need BTV to work with it...I would rather not install & run Girder.

In addition, if one day I want to start using a remote, can I have my IR Trans built-in IR receiver take in the signal and use the USB UIRT soley as a transmitter/emitter?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

BeyondTV has built-in support for the USB-UIRT's transmit functions, so you do not need Girder.
