Can't seem to learn a few codes?

Have my USB-UIRT working like a charm, now that I've learned how Girder and Sage interact. I have it grabbing the codes from my replay remote, transmitting channel changes, all that good stuff.

But no matter what I do, I simply cannot teach it the codes for volume changing my pioneer receiver. It gets about 80% of the way through learning in Girder, and then just sits there, lights flashing, but not getting that last 10/20% of the bar filled up. I have succesfully taught Girder at least 50 other codes from other different remotes with no problems.

It seems like its a standard remote, I have the 56hz enhanced version (thank goodness, otherwise my cable box wouldnt be working). I have tried learning in raw mode, but that didnt seem to help,

Any suggestions?

grot,

This isn't the first time I've seen something strange with volume control codes. Before I speculate, the easiest thing to do is to perform an 'IR debug' on your Pioneer volume control code. This helps me determine what's going on, make fixes in future versions of the code, and, at the very least, gets you a working code set.

To do this, simply press the 'IR Debug' button instead of the 'Learn' button. Then, just as in learning, press and hold your button on your remote. (Make sure you're aimed well, etc. first!).

After the progress bar completes, you'll get a screenful of hex data. Copy and paste the whole thing into a post Reply.

Thanks,

Jon

The problem is my progress bar NEVER finishes, it gets to 90% then just stalls.

Grot,

I realize that the progress bar never finished when trying to Learn using the 'Learn' button. However, it *will* always finish when using the IR debug button....
