Sorry for the triple entry, I tried to log in the previous times and it seems I wasn't

Hi,

I found one thread that mentioned constant blinking but that seemed to be only with Beyond TV.

In my case, the USB-UIRT device worked great for a few weeks as I just got it and set it up with the Cinemar products and Girder until tonight.

For some reason, the unit started bliniking constantly. I don't really see a pattern of any kind, just quick repetitive blinking. The strange thing is that the HTPC it's connected to is turned off. I realize there's still power getting to via the USB port but the machine is shut down so there isn't any software to create a problem.

I checked to make sure there weren't any remotes around with a "stuck" button or anything else sending signals and couldn't see any cause for the behaviour.

Anyone have any idea what might cause this or if you've seen it before. It lseemed to last for about 15 to 30 minutes or so and happened a few times throughout the evening.

Try putting something like a book or a black piece of tape over the front to see if it is seeing IR from somewhere in the room (don't hold your hand over it because the capacitance from your hand may skew the results).

Although I did try to cover it with my hand and not paper or other object, it may be a remote after all. There is one that may be the culprit and I've removed it and haven't had any issues so far.

I'll watch for it while I keep my fingers crossed.
