Harmony Remote and WME 2005 Help Needed

Hi Folks,

I have an HTPC running WME 2005 and I'm using UIRT to receive the IR signals with my Harmony 688 Remote. The Harmony remote is not working with WME at all. The UIRT is reconized by WME 2005 and when I hit buttons on the Harmony I see the UIRT blinking but nothing is happening.

Is there any other Software/drivers I need to install? I have an OrigenAe x15 HTPC case and that was in the Hamony setup devices online.

Thanks for your Help.

When you say WME 2005, do you mean Windows Media Center Edition 2005 software? If so, you need to know that Windows MCE 2005 does not support IR reception through any hardware other than the Microsoft IR hardware (unless you use some third-party app such as Girder to feed keystrokes into MCE).

So what is the point of buying a UIRT if you can by a microsoft IR that does the same thing? I thought this was my only option for IR control for Windows Media Center Edition 2005. Is their any drivers I can use to get it to work?

Microsoft's hardware is specific to Windows MCE. The USB-UIRT is designed to be a general-purpose IR device for other apps.
