I have X10 codes in my MX-800 Remote. It sends out very short bursts, and the UIRT will not even learn them at all. The green progress bar doesn't even go 10% of the way.

Someone suggested importing Pronto codes. So, I downloaded a Pronto CCF file, but it's binary, and Girder wants me to paste in the codes.

What do I need to do? Do I have to purchase a different remote?

You shouldnt need to buy another remote, I have my tivo remote controlling all my x10 gear using girder. What transceiver are you using? The Cm17A, cm11a, powerlinc? The plug-ins for the transceivers holds the codes. I never taught girder any x10 codes, as my remote only sent them out via RF (though I guess I could using the x10/ATI plug-in. I do have some motion sensors that will trigger other events in girder, though.... motion sensor --> TM751 transceiver (put the signal on the powerline) --> CM11A --> girder.

I looked at the specs for your remote... does both RF and IR. Are you sure the x10 codes are being sent via IR? Sorry, but Im just trying to whittle down to the problem.

With regards to CCF codes being binary... not sure, as I dont have a remote that uses them. This thread may be of help though... Importing Pronto Codes and this may be of help also...

Actually, I'm not using a transciever. When I got started, there was no plugin for the Powerlinc. But everyone was recommending it against the CMs. And, I wanted to use a remote control as well. So I have an IR 543, and plan to blast it with the USB UIRT. That's why I need to teach the codes to Girder.

My remote has RF turned off.

I'll look at the treads you posted for me and see if that gets me going.
