Kudos and a Suggestion

I recently received my USB UIRT. I am using it with GIRDER and it works great.

I have a hardware suggestion. Instead of having a permanently attached USB cable on the UIRT, make it detachable. Put a USB B connector (almost square with two rounded corners) inside the IR enclosure, then a detachable USB B to A (rectangular) cable could be used to connect the UIRT to a computer.

Thanks for the brilliant product.

That was (and is still a potential consideration). When originally considered, I was disappointed with the 'look' of this configuration for two reasons: 1) The size of the USB cable's connector going into the back of the USB-UIRT, 2) because the enclosure I use is so small (by choice), the connector could not be cenetered on the back of the unit but would have to be near one side

Also, the separate cable approach adds cost (assuming a cable is still purchased with the unit)

All products have compromises. The current USB UIRT design is pretty good in my opinion.

I still vote for a USB B connector on the "block." However, it would really have to be centered; the added connector/cable stiffness would be create a "whip" problem if not in the middle.

I think that pricing could be raised a nominal amount or broken out into separate cable sales.

Just my 2 cents.
