Transmitter / Emitter only UIRT
Posted: Mon Apr 13, 2009 11:55 amI have a Samsung Q1 Ultra touchscreen PC and would like to use it as a remote to send IR to my TV, DVD etc...
I'm using Girder and NetRemote and have used my UIRT to learn codes and transmit IR to my equipment in a cupboard.
What I would like to do is to buy a second UIRT to use for transmitting IR codes from the front USB of the Q1U to the television. This UIRT would need to be plugged in all the time so I wanted to cut the size down and incorporate it into the front of the Q1U.
As all I require is IR transmission the best way to cut down the size I thought would be to remove all of the IR receive components. I can solder but apart from the receive LEDs I do not know which other components I could remove.
Does anyone have a schematic for just the transmit element of the UIRT or any other ideas?
