Barco 1209s and Girder

Postby Guest » Sat Nov 13, 2004 2:31 am

I'm having a heck of a time learning any Barco commands. Anyone have any experience with Barcos or know of any tips or tricks. The USB-UIRT seems to learn the code, although it does seems to "struggle", but the command usually doesn't work, or works very infrequently. I noticed some settingings or adjustments in the learning IR dialog box, but I have no idea what they are for.

Te first thing to try is increasing the 'Repeat' setting in the Learn dialog and try test transmitting the code again. Increase the repeat to 10 and see if the code becomes consistent (Barco consistently responds). If so, decrease the Repeat to determine the minimum acceptable value.

You may also want to experiment with learning to see if a different distance between the remote and the USB-UIRT eliminates the 'struggle'

Thanks Jon,

Still no luck. Under freq. when I learn a code it says DC(RF Modulation). Could this be a problem?

Also, I noticed that you can import HEX code from Pronto files. There are a number of CCF files over at remote central that should work, but I have been unable to figure out how to access their IR information.

First of all, performing and posting the results of an IR debug would give us a clue.

Does any frequency show up during the learning process (on the Learn dialog)?

To access the IR codes from .CCF's you can use a tool such as ProntoEdit.

Hi Jon

I found out that these remotes use PPL codes at a high frequency.

No frequency shows up on learning.

I'm assuming this means I can not use devices like the USB-UIRT.

If there is still hope, I'd be happy to send you whatever info that may be helpful. Let me know.

Thanks for your time.

Even though the USB-UIRT cannot 'see' this frequency, it may be possible for it to still transmit codes like these.

Now if I only had access to a Barco remote...

I think for right now I"m going to see if I can do what I need to do via a serial connection. If that fails, whatch for the UPS man, he just might be bringing you a remote. :)

Regards,
John
