missing third zone

I have the everything setup for zones as described earlier in thread and I am using a stereo splitter from radio shack. My zones are set up as Z1, Z2, Z3. The problem is that there is no signal coming out of Z1. Z2 and Z3 work fine. if I change around the zones the same thing happens. The only thing I can think of thats different is that I got my IR emitters from 2 different places..... I would hate to have to wait another week to get one from the same company. Can anyone help me out with suggestions??

The first thing I would suggest (which would rule out the emitters and the splitters) is to plug in a set of stereo headphones in the 1/8" rear jack. Then try transmitting out of the different zones. You should be able to 'hear' some repetetive tones from the headphones, and the Z1 and Z2 should come from different sides of the headphone.
