two satellite boxes, single USB-UIRT non zoned - problems

Hey guys,

So I know that I should be able to control up to 16 devices with this single zone USB-UIRT by changing the device IDs on the sat boxes. I have changed the device IDs so I have an ID1 and an ID2. I thought I could use SageTv to learn the remote codes for the boxes, thereby creating unique ir files and all would be well. Problem is, Sage isn't learning correctly, it doesn't wait for me to press the buttons it returns immediately with "there was an error learning" or "learned" even though I haven't pressed a button yet. Anyway, my first device works fine and I'll attach the ir file I'm using. My questions are:

1) Is there another way to learn the codes to create the ir file for the second box?

2) Could I just take my first ir file, modify a number to indicate device ID2 and use this?

3) the first box, when I select a channel change, as soon as I press the select button on my remote it tries to chane immediately, like there is no small pause before it starts to change. This often creates a missed first digit in the channel change. Is there a way to add a pause before it attempts to change channels? What numbers can I mess with to improve reliability?

You can manually create a second .IR file by copying the first IR file, then using lrnHelper to learn the new codes and editing them into the file.

As far as Sage not delaying before sending the channel change -- you may want to ask on Sage's forum if there is a way to change this. I assume what is happening here is IR collisions between your remote (still emitting the 'Select' button and the first IR digit being sent from the USB-UIRT. You could also, if feasible, try to remove the sat box from line-of-sight of your remote.
