USB-UIRT and Girder 4.0

Postby Guest » Wed Dec 07, 2005 5:44 pm

I am getting a funky screen in my girder plugin. Please see http://www.promixis.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13475. Ron recommended I post this here.

Easley,

You mentioned you're using XP SP2, but I noted that the Girder screenshot (the one behind the messed-up screen) doesn't 'look' like the Girder screens on my PC (mine has a fancy 'themed' look).

The reason I mention this is that I had made some special UI calls to make the tabs on the messed-up dialog match the 'themed' look that the new Girder has, but for some reason your machine has the stock Win2K look. I wonder if that has something to do with the problem...

Great eye Jon. As one of many performance tweaks, I disable the Theme service in Services. This has the side affect of making windows look like 2000.

And sure enough, I reenabled the service and the uirt plugin looks normal now. :) I will make my changes then just disable the service again.

Thanks Jon!

Just to be complete, I noticed even with the Themes service enabled, you have to have the XP Theme selected for your desktop. Selecting Windows Classic causes the problem.
