KOSS C928 remote Codes

Hi I have a Koss C928 that I'm trying to use. Its a "home theater in a box" player. I believe that its made by Oritron and labled "Koss" brand.

I'm having trouble with the IR codes that girder learned only working intermitently.

I've pasted the debug for On/Off and AV1

These codes look pretty normal. You say they only work intermittently when you 'Test Transmit' them? Have you tried increasing the repeat Value?

What I have noticed is if I have the power off and then test the command for "AV1" the unit will power on. But if the unit is off and I test the command for "Power on" it will not power on. Even though I have the remote and learned the commands.

Another example is if the I turned on the unit by using the "AV1" command that is learned in girder the unit will power on and switch to AV1. If I then manually push the button on the unit for AV3 and then try to use girder to switch back to AV1 it will not work.

Its almost like you can use the usbuirt/girder command twice in a row.
I noticed this when trying to get volume up or down to work.

OK,

If you cannot get a command to work twice in a row, there is likely a 'parity' bit encoded in the buttons (which toggles on every button-press).

To see if this is the case, LEARN a button TWICE, and paste the learned codes in your reply. When doing this, take care *not* to press any buttons on the remote between the first and second learn.

I read some other posts about Parity.

I got the power on and off to work using two different girder commands.

I'm working on the other remote buttons now.

Yes, its definitely parity. Hopefully soon I will have a new way to address parity which will not require you to have two separate Girder commands but instead will allow you to put both versions of the code in a single girder command.

Another way to tackle parity (rather that learning both commands) is a way many Pronto users work around parity -- they find a 'benign' button/function on their remote that they can send between every IR transmission. This button disrupts the parity logic in the receiver, but otherwise does not affect the functions.
