Only one button! USB-UIRT can't recognize on my remote

After a reinstall of the drivers, I was finally able to get my remote to learn the numbers with BeyondTV 3.5.Unfortunlately, the only number that couldn't be learned was the number 8. I am trying to get my Hughes DirecTV recviever to work with the USB-UIRT.

What should I do to get USB-UIRT to learn number 8?

Hmmm. that's very strange. Here's some things to try:

1. This could be an issue of weak batteries or poor batter connection in your remote. Since during 'learning' the USB-UIRT wants to see consistent repeated signal, weak batteries means the signal will start to die off when the button is held.

2. Try moving closer or further away from the USB-UIRT. About 3" seems to be an ideal distance for many remotes.
