Programming USB-UIRT for DCT5100

Postby RAlfieri » Sun Aug 07, 2005 4:02 am

I just bought a USB-UIRT so that I could switch my Windows Media Center to SageTV and hit a snag. Maybe someone has some ideas.

I went through the programming of Sage with the TimeWarner DCT5100 set top box remote control and then tried to test the programming. The IR repeater I put on the front of the DCT5100 flashed, but the DCT5100 acted like it didn't see a thing. It just ignored the IR signals.

The IR repeater is the one I received with my HP Media Center. If it is possible the problem is the repeater, please recommend one that you know works with the USB-UIRT.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

Regards,
Rob

Rob,

I would suggest first seeing if this is an issue with the IR repeater (can you temprarily take it out of the loop?).

Also, the distance between the IR Repeater's receiver and the USB-UIRT shouldn't be too close, since the USB-UIRT transmits at high power.

Did you manually learn the digits or use a pre-defined setup?

Hi, Jon!

I will try that. My setup has my media center system exposed and the cable box down underneath in a cabinet. The IR repeater is stuck to the face of the cable box. If it is the repeater, do you have one you like or recommend?
