Is my USB-UIRT defective ?

Postby Harald » Sat Oct 01, 2005 12:17 pm

Hi,

I received my new device USB-UIRT0056 on Thursday and am struggling with strange effects. I am using the device in Girder 4.

The problem occurres when I try to learn an event. I press an RC-5 code on a Pronto (e.g. RC5 7 105 = 5000 0000 0000 0001 0007 0069). The log display of Girder 4 shows after the first press:
USB-UIRT driver 1500002E43E1
and after the second press:
USB-UIRT driver 1300000E0DDD
This continues for every even and odd press.

I can drag both events to an action to reliably trigger the action. But is this really meant this way?

Since I don't believe my Pronto is defective, I tested with my old IRMAN: every press gives the same result (343000000000) and the action is triggered after every press!

It is not defective --

The USB-UIRT passes along the details of the received code, and for RC5 codes, which toggle, each successive press of the remote will give an alternate code.

RC5 uses this to provide a way for the receiving software to detect a 'lost' code.
