transmit not working toshiba tv only

Postby Mike909 » Fri Feb 03, 2006 8:42 pm

Hi, as I explained in this thread at promixis I can send IR out my USBUIRT just fine to my devices, except for my Toshiba TV. For some reason the power will not send correctly (using girder of course). It works fine sending power/vol. etc to my Pioneer reciever, but not to my tv. Any suggestions?
p.s. I tried changing the obvious settings in girder (speed, thresh, etc).

Well, this kind of sucks, as the sole purpose of buying it was to be able to use one button to turn on/off all devices. Is there a way to check the firmware on it? Maybe it needs to be updated?

It looks like the USB-UIRT is only seeing the 'repetition' part of the power button's IR code, and is missing the initial portion of the code. Can you try doing another IR debug of the button making sure:

a) The remote is laid on a flat surface along with the USB-UIRT and aimed directly at the USB-UIRT at a spot just to the left of the red LED.

b) the remote has fresh batteries.

changed the batteries, and that did it. Thanks for the tip...I just figured it it worked directly to the tv it would work for learning....I was wrong. Thanks again. Great product.
