Girder as choice for keystrokes and ICTV

Postby jchild » Mon Mar 27, 2006 7:53 pm

I'm atempting to use the USB-UIRT with Girder to emulate keystrokes in a particular odd context. ICTV is an interactive TV company which make a very good emulator for TV emulation that rests on Internet Explorer. One starts the emulator and uses cursor keys and the enter key to navigate around the interface. And I want to use a TV remote to add to the effect.

First I am wondering if Girder is the correct interpreter/driver for this fairly simple use. I have tried 4 different TV remotes with varying degrees of lack of success. Is there a better application to focus and send keystrokes?

The logger function of Girder is showing faily consistent responses to remote key presses. But the ICTV program is effected very inconsistenly if at all. The fact that it does work from time to time would indicate that my programmng is not totally ot of whack. I'm not sure where to go from here.

Thanks,

Jon

I think there is a program called 'hip' or something like that which is more of a dedicated keyboard emulator.
